Sautéing is one of my favourite ways to cook food, mostly because it’s fast, easy, and the food tastes great. Vegetables retain most of their nutrition when cooked this way. Sautéing works well for almost any vegetable, including tofu, seitan, and greens. 

Sauteeing is different from stir-frying because sauteeing happens at lower temperatures and slower speeds. Food does not need to be constantly stirred or tossed. Sauteeing is seen in Western cuisines, and it is a slow way to make dinner for yourself.

Steaming is a great cooking technique because it preserves the vitamins and nutrients in your food. You should try steaming veggies instead of boiling them.

Try steaming and making these tempeh and kale gyoza, steamed vegetables with garlic sauce, and steamed sweet potatoes with wild rice, basil, and tomato chili sauce. You can also steam desserts like these healthy steamed chocolate molten cakes.


Grilling is easy and you’ll get great results. Let your veggies and tofu/seitan/tempeh marinate before cooking. 

Roasting And Baking

Roasting is an easy way to prepare vegetables. It’s the best way to get rid of those tough outer layers of vegetables. Roasting is also the perfect way to enjoy vegetables since you don’t have to be present during the process. Roast some cauliflower, eggplant, zucchini, and more!

Baking is similar to frying. We can bake all kinds of foods without getting them too greasy or soggy. Crispy tofu? Yes! Bake crispy baked tofu with shredded veggie quinoa. French fries? Even better when you bake them instead of frying them. Baked onion rings, cinnamon-spiced baked sweet potatoes, healthy baked vegan pakoras, homemade baked potato chips, and baked broccoli burgers. 

Healthy Options For Frying

You should always use olive oil when cooking because it contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. Ghee is another great choice for healthy cooking. Deep frying should be done at lower temperatures than conventional methods.

Alternatives To Deep Frying
