Homemade Italian Sausage Seasoning

This recipe makes enough Italian sausage mix to season 2 pounds of ground meat. You can use it as a base for many different recipes. It’s also great to make ahead and freeze.

Italian seasoning, fajita seasoning, taco seasoning, pasta salad, and seasoning are four of our favourites. If people start watching their sugar intake, they will realize that most of their favourite foods contain sugar. So many of these foods include sausage. 

However, if I want to eat sugar I would prefer it in a doughnut rather than a sausage. This  Italian sausage seasoning is made up of garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, oregano, basil, thyme, salt, and rosemary and can be made at home.

If I prepare a large quantity of it, I tend to freeze it for future use or turn them into patties, which can also be frozen for future use,  or I’ll brown it before freezing.

 Then, when I want to use it, I just take it out of the freezer and thaw it. I’ve even used frozen Italian sausages as a substitute for fresh ones!
